Dealing With the Occult Root: How to Close Spiritual Doors, Heal Bloodlines, and Reclaim God‑Given Authority

April 15, 202611 min read

There are moments in our walk with God where clarity matters more than comfort.
This is one of those moments.

God is very serious about occult involvement.
In Scripture, there are 101 references to occultism and idolatry. This alone shows how much weight God places on this issue.

This is not about fear.
It is about territory, authority, and freedom.

Understanding Renunciation and Spiritual Territory

Renunciation deals with territory that has been given over to Satan.

This territory gives him a legal right.

Scripture is very clear about this.

Ephesians 4:27
We are told to give
no place, no foothold, and no opportunity to the devil.

When a door is opened—even unknowingly—it must be intentionally closed.

The Meaning of “Grip” and Why It Matters

1 John 5:18 explains that those who are born of God are protected.
The enemy does not get a grip on them or touch them.

The word “grip” means:

  • To fasten

  • To cling to

  • To attach

Occult involvement—of any kind—means stepping into Satan’s territory.

Once territory is entered, the enemy can hold on unless that access is renounced.

Motive Does Not Cancel Impact

This part is important.

Your motive for involvement does not remove the effect.

It does not matter if:

  • You thought it was harmless

  • You believed it was just a game

  • You treated it as a joke

The result is still a spiritual binding.

Without renunciation, the enemy keeps his legal right.

Renouncing Occult Involvement: A Personal Process

You are encouraged to make a personal list that includes:

  • Your own involvement in the occult

  • Any occult involvement in your family line or forefathers

Each item must be renounced individually.

There is no shortcut here.
Freedom is found in specific truth-telling.

Every door that was opened must be closed in the Name of Y’shua (Jesus).

Two Kingdoms. Two Choices.

Always keep this in mind:

There are only two kingdoms.
Only two playgrounds.

  • Life

  • Death

There is no neutral ground.

Resisting the Enemy Is Not Optional

James 4:7 makes something very clear.

The enemy will not leave unless he is resisted.

Submission to God and resistance to the devil go together.
One does not work without the other.

Freedom requires action, not intention.

Authority Has Been Given to You

This is where hope becomes anchored.

Luke 10:19 reminds us that authority and power have already been given.

You have authority:

  • Over the power of the enemy

  • To trample what once threatened you

  • To walk in protection

Nothing is meant to harm you when you stand in God-given authority.

Practical Steps: Healing the Bloodline by Addressing the Root

Freedom becomes tangible when truth meets action.

These practical steps are not about rushing the process.
They are about moving slowly, prayerfully, and honestly—with the Holy Spirit as your guide.

Step One: Go Before the Lord in Prayer

Begin in prayer and invite the Holy Spirit to help you.

Ask Him to reveal:

  • All known sin in your bloodline

  • Patterns that have repeated across generations

  • Areas that feel heavy, stuck, or resistant

This is not a mental exercise.
This is a spiritual unveiling.

Step Two: Examine Both Family Lines

Look carefully at:

  • Your father’s family line

  • Your mother’s family line

Make a written list of the fruit you see manifesting, such as:

  • Repeated heartache

  • Chronic sickness

  • Financial loss or bankruptcy

  • Relational breakdown

  • Ongoing cycles of struggle

The fruit always leads to the root.

Understanding Demonic Covenants in the Bloodline

When forefathers sinned by breaking the Commandments of the Lord, they entered into demonic covenants with Satan.

God Himself is the One who taught us about covenants:

  • Covenants are eternal

  • Covenants cannot simply be broken

  • God is a Covenant‑Keeping God, which is why our salvation is secure

When people bowed to other gods or worshipped at their altars, they entered into demonic covenants that could not be walked away from casually.

How Are Demonic Covenants Broken?

There is only one thing that can cancel these covenants.

Nothing dissolves or destroys demonic covenants except the Blood of Y’shua (Jesus).

When sins are confessed, the Blood of Y’shua is released to:

  • Destroy demonic covenants

  • Cancel legal spiritual rights

  • Break generational bondage

If sins remain unconfessed, those covenants continue to:

  • Stand in the spirit against families

  • Pass from generation to generation

Root vs. Fruit: What God Is Addressing

This is essential to understand.

The Root

  • Breaking the First and Second Commandments

The Fruit

  • Manifestations seen in people’s lives

  • Sickness, loss, oppression

  • All curses described in Deuteronomy 28

Do not focus only on the fruit.
Freedom comes from healing the root.

Why Confession Is Non‑Negotiable

Inherited sin gives Satan legal access.

Because God is righteous, He must judge sin.

If roots remain uncut:

  • Satan keeps his legal right

  • Bondage continues

Once sin is confessed:

  • Forgiveness is released

  • Curses can be removed in Y’shua’s Name

1 John 1:9

Ministering to Tribes and Nations

This freedom is not only personal—it is global.

All tribes and nations in Messiah must also be ministered to in this area.

  • Ancestral worship and witchcraft bind people to the past

  • These practices force generations to look backward, not forward

  • Messiah offers a future filled with victory

Help others step into complete freedom.

Culture, Idolatry, and Manifestation

The culture of a person often determines the form of idol worship.

After removing branches such as:

  • Occult practices

  • Rejection

  • Pride

  • Rebellion

  • Bitterness

  • Hatred

New branches may still try to grow.

These must be uprooted intentionally.

Practical Commands for Breaking Idolatry and Bondage

After cutting off old branches, uproot the remaining roots by:

  • Canceling the effects of idol worship

  • Identifying resulting fruit such as fear, condemnation, or depression

  • Cursing the tree, its fruit, and its seed in the person’s life

  • Commanding the family tree to fall and be consumed by God’s Fire

    • Luke 3:8–9

  • Commanding all family idols to fall and be consumed by God’s Fire

  • Destroying all spiritual witnesses (acts of idol worship)

  • Breaking all links and addictions (chains) to idols

  • Walking away from strange altars

  • Destroying the yoke of slavery

    • Galatians 5:1

If the inheritance line is especially strong, the person may also need to be cut free from territorial spirits.

Going Deeper: Healing at the Point of Conception

At this stage, the person is spiritually:

  • Naked

  • Orphaned

  • Fatherless

Return spiritually to the place of conception and:

  • Remove all gifting, rankings, and callings transferred through the bloodline

  • Remove sickness and demonic transfer through DNA

  • Destroy all past, present, and future plans of Satan

  • Cut all spirit‑ and soul‑ties with both bloodlines

  • Remove judgments placed because of rejected occult callings

Can Someone Stand Proxy for Another Bloodline?

This is an important question.

2 Timothy 2:19–21 makes the answer clear.

Each person must:

  • Bow their own knee

  • Cleanse themselves

  • Separate from what is un‑Godly

Freedom is personal.
No one can repent on another’s behalf.

Prayer for Your Family: Standing in the Gap for Generational Freedom

There is power in standing before God on behalf of your family.

Scripture shows us that when one person turns their heart back to the Lord, the way is prepared for others to follow.

God Responds When We Return to Him

2 Chronicles 30:8–9

This passage reminds us not to be stiff‑necked like our forefathers, but to yield ourselves to the Lord, return to His sanctuary, and serve Him.

When we return to the Lord:

  • His anger is turned away

  • Compassion is released

  • Children and families find a way back

  • God does not turn His face from those who return

God is gracious and merciful.

Standing in the Gap for Your Family

Scripture teaches that when you stand in the gap by confessing the sins of your forefathers, something shifts in the spirit.

When this happens:

  • The strongman’s hold over loved ones is weakened

  • Hearts become more able to hear the Lord’s voice

  • The path out of captivity becomes clearer

  • The way back to the Father’s House is made easier

Your obedience creates spiritual access for others.

When Only One Spouse Is Saved

This is a question many women quietly carry.

What happens when:

  • The wife is saved

  • The husband is not

  • Children are affected by ancestral sin

Scripture gives clear hope.

The Covering of a Consecrated Spouse

1 Corinthians 7:14

When one spouse is consecrated to God:

  • The unbelieving spouse is set apart through that union

  • The children are not unclean

  • The children are prepared for God

This does not remove personal responsibility, but it does provide spiritual covering.

A Mother’s Role in Spiritual Warfare

The wife must:

  • Cleanse herself before the Lord

  • Take a stand against the enemy

  • Refuse the claim over her children caused by the father’s iniquity

The battle can be fierce.

But those who persevere will overcome.

Confessing the Inherited Seed

Children inherit spiritual “seed” from both parents.

  • The mother can stand proxy for a small child, confessing on their behalf

  • Older children must confess for themselves, with guidance if needed

This is not about blame.
This is about breaking inherited bondage.

Practical Steps to Breaking Bondages

1. Repentance and Confession

Repent and confess the specific sin connected to the bondage.

Truth must be named before freedom can be claimed.

2. Break the Bondage by Command

Forgiveness and healing are not fully activated until the bondage is broken by command in Y’shua’s Name.

Matthew 16:19

We must:

  • Speak with authority

  • Command the chain to snap

  • Cut links with demonic power

The authority comes from:

  • The Word of God

  • The power of the Holy Spirit

  • The anointing that breaks the yoke

3. Declare Freedom Through Prophecy

Often, the word of prophecy is necessary to seal freedom.

Declaring God’s truth:

  • Shifts spiritual atmospheres

  • Confirms release

  • Establishes identity and future

Why Freedom Is Guaranteed in Messiah

God is faithful and just.

When sin is confessed:

  • The Blood of Y’shua removes it

  • Right standing with God is restored

  • Cleansing and freedom follow

Provision has already been made.

Possessing What Has Already Been Given

In Messiah Y’shua, we are:

  • Legally free

  • Positionally free

But freedom must be appropriated.

You are called to:

  • Possess the land

  • Walk into what was promised

  • Claim what was already purchased

Share the Good News Everywhere

This message is not limited by:

  • Race

  • Culture

  • Nation

The Good News is for every part of the world.

Freedom is not something we fight to earn.
It is something we step into—one yes at a time.

In Messiah Y’shua, everything needed for your freedom has already been provided. The land has already been promised. The authority has already been given. What remains is learning how to possess what is yours, gently and intentionally, without striving.

If this teaching has stirred reflection, pause and let it settle in your body. Let the Holy Spirit highlight what matters now, not everything at once. Healing is layered. God is patient. And freedom unfolds where truth is welcomed.

This message is not just for one home, one family line, or one nation. It is Good News meant to move—across generations, cultures, and the entire world.

May doors close softly but firmly.
May territory return to the Kingdom of Light.
And may you walk forward lighter than you came—rooted, protected, and free.
